A big step towards a sustainable company

Corporate Social Responsibility

Our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility is that, as a transport company, we fully commit to the well-being of people and the environment alongside our economic activities. Not only are our strategic decisions influenced by this commitment, but our daily operations also take into account the social impact and environmental consequences.
Due to stricter environmental regulations, rising energy prices, and the impact our energy consumption has on the climate, we thoroughly invest in taking proven measures necessary to be fully prepared for our sustainable future.

Solar roof at Transport Jos Schreurs site (Niel)

Solar roof at Transport Jos Schreurs site (Niel) For the site in Niel, possibilities were explored to install a solar panel system on the roofs of the buildings. From the study phase, the goal of this project was to achieve the optimal installation in terms of location, wiring, and the entire permitting process. Thanks to approval in January 2022, construction started quickly, and Transport Jos Schreurs has been enjoying sustainable benefits since spring 2023. This project includes 384 solar panels and generates 75,000 KWh, allowing a significant portion of the generated energy to be used for the continuous power supply of the site.

A significant step towards the carbon neutrality of Transport Jos Schreurs, contributing to the Flemish goal to reduce emissions by at least 30% by 2030. This is also a great example of the enormous potential offered by installing solar panel systems on rooftops.

A new generation of trucks

In addition to investments in alternative energy sources, Transport Jos Schreurs continuously modernizes its fleet and develops various initiatives with the explicit goal of reducing CO2 emissions. The ecological impact of transport on people and the environment is undeniable.
Transport Jos Schreurs has an extensive fleet, which naturally has a greater impact on the environment… but we take that into account. Decisive factors in the purchase of new trucks include fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, maintenance frequencies, and costs of consumable parts. To minimize our ecological footprint, “empty” kilometers are avoided.

Sustainable fuel (Euro 6)

We can proudly say that our entire truck fleet consists of vehicles that meet the strict current European environmental standards. The heavy Euro 6 engines emit significantly less CO2 than their predecessors.

Air pollution

We support and promote all processes to avoid pollution.

Sorting and recycling

Waste is unavoidable, but recycling where possible is our correct attitude. Transport Jos Schreurs separates all waste streams because delivering sorted waste prevents a lot of environmental pollution.

We also generate waste that can be recycled and/or reused.
